Those who know her insist that Eva Longoria Parker is humble and gracious, but her public persona suggests she has a serious girl crush—on herself.
She named her nightclub Eve, yet she might as well call it Eva. It is, after all, all about her, and few opportunities to leverage her likeness to promote it go unrealized.
Evidently Evamania is working. Her steakhouse, Beso, and adjoining nightclub have been doing swift business since opening in December, prompting the Latin Chamber of Commerce to give her the Premio de Oro, its award for Distinguished Business Leadership.
Longoria Parker was in Las Vegas on Feb. 20 and toasted her success with a daylong celebration—literally. The city of Las Vegas and Clark County declared Feb. 20 “Eva Longoria Parker Day,” and she marked the occasion with a glittery party at—you guessed it—Beso and Eve. There were cocktails, candles and cake—a big, glittering cake, with a golden “Eva” crown on top of it— yet no sign of the man married to the woman of the hour.
Is there trouble in paradise? No, Tony Parker was just on the road with the San Antonio Spurs. The injured guard played the night before his wife’s soiree—scoring 28 points—but had to sit out Sunday’s game.
