Baby for Beyoncé?

Pregnancy rumors swirled as Beyoncé Knowles came to Las Vegas with her superstar husband, Jay-Z.

TMZ-wannabe website cited a “rock solid” source on March 25 claiming Knowles was pregnant with the rapper’s baby.

“Beyoncé is doing fine and resting (for now), but she’s expected to continue working throughout her pregnancy,” reported the so-called “most visited urban website in the world” (that we’ve never heard of).

Resting? Hardly! She was in Las Vegas—partying (and drinking) all night at Tao and the Palms!

Still, The Huffington Post and New York Post (and several others) picked up the poorly sourced tidbit and ran with it before Rolling Stone finally set the record straight.

A Sony publicist called the reports “untrue,” effectively dashing the rumor just as Jay-Z prepared to take to the stage at The Pearl.

Knowles successfully avoided the paparazzi for most of the weekend. Although publicists, chefs and others were busy trading Jay-Z sightings all weekend (The Palms! N9NE Steakhouse! Simon! Tao!), few had any bragging rights involving bootylicious Sasha Fierce.

Indeed, Knowles kept a low profile over the weekend: She joined Hova at Tao after the concert for a post-show dinner in the private dining room, then hung on the banquette at their VIP until 4 a.m. Hip-hop’s first couple returned to the Palms and popped by the Mint high-limit gaming lounge just after 4 a.m. They reportedly tried their luck at the tables for a while before returning to their $30,000-a-night Sky Villa in the Fantasy Tower.

Chef Kerry Simon boasted that he “did Jay-Z’s lunch” on Sunday, and the hip-hop mogul had dinner at Phil Maloof’s private penthouse at Palms Place later that night with 11 others, but spies say Knowles wasn’t there. This, of course, proves one thing: Her Destiny’s Child days are behind her and she’s been married for more than two years, but she’s still an Independent Woman.
