Seven Nights

Entertaining options for a week of nonstop fun and excitement.

Thur. 1

Not to be confused with local band (and fellow fresh-from-SXSW rockers) Moksha, Austin, Texas-based rockers Morakestra are in town for two shows, starting with an afternoon in-store performance at Zia Records (4225 S. Eastern Ave.) and finishing with a gig at Beauty Bar (517 E. Fremont St.) with Standing Shadows and A Shoreline Dream. The group comes to Las Vegas to promote the April 6 release of a vinyl version of its 2009 LP, Witness to Connection. In-store appearance at 4 p.m., free; Beauty Bar doors at 10 p.m., $5 cover.

Fri. 2

Bijou Phillips was once among the youngest models to appear in Interview but she’s no kid anymore. In fact, she just turned 30 and is at Pure to celebrate the big three-oh in style. DJ Casanova sets the soundtrack for the model-actress, while DJ Eric D-Lux provides another ear-pleasing option for your Friday night, at Vanity. Pure at Caesars Palace and Vanity at the Hard Rock Hotel. Doors at 10 p.m., $40 men, $20 women at both clubs, local ladies free at Vanity.

Sat. 3

Head to the Hard Rock Hotel, where The Jason Ellis Show brings rounds of novelty fights to The Joint during Ellis Mania. The Sirius/XM Radio host will face Murderball’s Mark Zuppan in a wheelchair fight, while Good Charlotte rocker (and Holly Madison’s love interest) Benji Madden will take on Headbanger’s Ball and Daisy of Love personality Riki Rachtman in the main event. Doors at 7 p.m., fights start at 8, from $25. Meanwhile, techno superstar Tiesto will be at Aria for a night of house music at Haze. Doors at 10:30 p.m., $40 for guys, $20 for girls.

Sun. 4

Sure, you could hit the pools at Venus, Wet Republic or Liquid—but the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend’s tiki-themed pool party at the Orleans is here for one weekend and one weekend only, so why not switch it up, head off-Strip and check it out? The ’50s-inspired swimwear and soundtrack provide a stark contrast from the mayhem that will unfold next week when Rehab opens for the season—but whether that’s a good thing remains to be seen. 1-8 p.m., $35 for all-access day pass,

Mon. 5

The Balinese escape on top of the Venetian otherwise known as Tao Beach provides a great excuse to extend your weekend, take an extra-long lunch break or knock off earlier than usual. So pick your excuse, grab your suit and catch some rays with the sunbathing beauties as the venue officially reopens for weekday operations. 10 a.m. until sunset, free.

Tues. 6

Brando’s Bar & Grill adds some T&A to its Chicago-style pizza as it hosts an adults-only sing-along, KaraokeXXX. The porn stars come out to play (and sing) at the weekly party, which has become an XXX-industry night of sorts. (Regulars include Rebecca Love, Sunset Thomas, Sammie Spades and Selena Swallows, among others.) Deauxma hosts this week, ladies drink for free from 9-10 p.m. and first prize for the karaoke contest fetches $300 cash. 2973 Industrial Road location only, 9:30 p.m.-3 a.m., no cover.

Wed. 7

Head to Gold Lounge and check out the inaugural Model Material industry night hosted by John “JT” Thomason and Aaron Fust of Syrup Swimwear. The soon-to-be-a-weekly event features a fashion showcase highlighting Syrup’s 2010 line, giveaways and two hours of open-bar fun starting at 10 p.m. Think of it as a pre-gamer for Liquid’s industry afternoon, which gets under way the following day—and with that in mind, it might be a good idea to take advantage of midweek rates and just move into CityCenter for 24 hours or so. At Aria. $20 for guys, $10 for girls, free for locals.
