This intimate, urban-style pizzeria from Brooklyn, N.Y., cooks its pies in a coal-fired oven. The result is a crust that’s chewy, bubbly and flavorful, with just the right amounts of cheese and sauce. The restaurant, which features a pleasant patio area, gets packed in the evenings, but these are pizzas worth a wait. $15 small (16-inch), 9595 S. Eastern Ave., 657-9400; 750 S. Rampart Blvd, 479-1351.
