Imagine a business directory written by women for women, with a fun, modern twist and just 150 in-depth listings. That, in essence, is what Crave Las Vegas is—a guide book meets coffee table book meets business directory that details the female movers-and-shakers who define the city.
The book, which should be in stores for the holidays, is one of a series of Crave guides already published in 13 other cities, from Phoenix to Amsterdam. It’s an eye-pleasing and easy-to-read who’s who of urban-minded women.
The project is sponsored by Nevada State Bank’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Unit, and is being spearheaded by massage therapist Katie Glazier and state public relations/public outreach worker Elisabeth Daniels.
Local entrepreneurs slated for inclusion include Gina Gavan (Tribal Minds Marketing, Project Dinner Table) Patty Barba (Patty’s Closet and Voluptuous boutiques), Pam Jenkins (The Cupcakery), Staci Linklater (Globe Salon) and Bree Goldwater (Box Salon and Human Landscaping). Though the directory is nearly complete, Daniels is open to suggestions for nominations. Call 366-5348 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Crave is also a movement to connect entrepreneurs through a range of events. Although the Crave Las Vegas is in its infancy, it is already hosting events, such as the Tweet-Up and buzz party at Popcorn Girl on Oct. 6. You can find it on Facebook, Twitter and at its website, TheCraveCompany.com/LasVegas.
