Dealing With Celebs

Cheryl Hines, the hostess of the third annual All In for CP celebrity poker tournament, has reason to be enthusiastic. Not only is she the co-star of the hit HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm, she’ll also be joined by other celebrities to raise money for the One Step Closer Foundation, a non-profit organization that benefits those suffering from cerebral palsy.

The action goes down at 4 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Venetian poker room. Organizers hope to raise more than $100,000 for the cause. Joining in the high-stakes drama will be television stars Jason Alexander from Seinfield, Mekhi Phifer of Lie to Me, talk show host Montel Williams and Gina Hecht from Hung. Boxing champ Sergio Martinez is expected to go a few rounds, while former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis will also be in the game. Also hoping to steal the pot, and maybe your heart, will be Playboy Playmates Lauren Anderson, Stacy Fuson, Alison Waite and Playmate of the Year Brande Roderick.

“Since working [the celebrity poker tournament] I have learned just how generous the poker community really is,” event director Crys Spelman says.
