The premiere of Sinatra Dance With Me, the Twyla Tharp show that pairs dance routines to Frank’s songs, lasted two days and drew in the newest members of the American Idol judges’ table. It’s kind of disappointing in a way—if ever there was an event that a pilled-up Paula Abdul would crash, this would’ve been it.
For the first evening, Dec. 11, Sinatra daughters Nancy and Tina came to see the show at Encore. It was the second night, though, on what would’ve been the Chairman of the Board’s 95th birthday, that drew the biggest names in televised karaoke.
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and former resident of the block Jennifer Lopez came to fete Ol’ Blue Eyes. Lopez had husband Marc Anthony in tow. Those who looked closely may have even been able to see Kara DioGuardi pressed up against the glass looking in, shivering in the cold.
