Partying is a full-time job, and tonight Haze salutes those who take the position very seriously. The Light Group has invited 100 of its most notorious party boys and girls, thus ensuring its Socialite Holiday Party will be a well-dressed, well-watered and well-manicured night to remember. (At Aria, doors 10:30 p.m., $40 men, $20 women.) Tao also gets into the holiday spirit with its sixth annual Bad Santa Party, complete with a $5,000 contest to determine Santa’s naughtiest helper, and $1,000 for the person who wears the best worst holiday sweater. (At the Venetian, doors 10 p.m., $20 guys, $10 girls, all locals free.) And over at The Joint, Down & Derby welcomes Miike Snow’s Karlsson and Winnberg (pictured) into the round. At the Hard Rock Hotel, doors 9 p.m., $10, or $15 with roller-skate rental.
It’s all about Dubstep tonight, as Crown hosts 12th Planet, Datsik, Bare, M!ke Attack, AK1200 (pictured) and multi-award-winning scratch artist DJ Craze. (At Rio, doors 10 p.m., $25 or all-you-can-drink for $60.) Downtown, the hipsters gather at Beauty Bar for what could very well be the most progressive ugly sweater party in town (517 E. Fremont St., doors 9 p.m., free.) Meantime, The Mirage welcomes the West Coast’s Dr. Hollywood, who will perform their hit, “We Run L.A.,” at Jet. While they’re here, feel free to channel your inner Redfoo and remind them, “You’re in Las Vegas, bitch.” (Doors 10:30 p.m., $30.) One final option: Kick off your weekend with a free drink at Koi, as the Asian-inspired restaurant and lounge gives back to those who bring new, unwrapped gifts for Toys for Tots, awarding glasses of sake, champagne or the holiday cocktail of your choosing for every book or toy you donate—so the more you give, the more you get, and therefore drink! At Planet Hollywood, through Dec. 19.
Call it “ugly” or call it “festive”—whatever your adjective of choice, pull on your best/worst holiday sweater and head to the Silverton, where wearing wool that was woven for What Not to Wear could earn you an iPad or iPhone. The Hideous Holiday Sweater Party kicks off with an eggnog-chugging contest at 7 p.m., before the main event at 8. (Inside Veil Pavilion, doors 6 p.m., no cover.) Also tonight, High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens (pictured) celebrates her 22nd birthday at Pure (in Caesars Palace, doors 10 p.m., $30 men, $20 women), and frequent Chelsea Lately contributor Ben Gleib (whom Esquire named as one of its “six comedians who could be comedy’s next big thing”) does his thing at Playboy Comedy at the Palms. In the Lounge, 8 and 10 p.m. Also Thu and Fri, 9 p.m., $40, free entry to Playboy Club after the show.
Reflect upon the best of 2010 with Spy On Vegas during the omnipresent club photo site’s Year in Review Party at the Bank. All industry locals through the doors receive a digital yearbook, while YouTube sensation Atomic Tom is set to perform. Need another reason to go? It’s Light Group marketing vice president Jake Saady’s birthday—and we’ll drink to all of that! (Doors 10:30 p.m., $40, locals free.) Alternatively, opt for a lower key but still somewhat freaky Sunday night and pop by Rhumbar at The Mirage as the small bar with the big Strip-facing patio launches Circus Sundays, featuring a mixture of magic, music and mouth-watering drinks from 9 p.m.-midnight. Magician Seth Grabel entertains and DJ Larry Lynx spins. Doors 11 a.m., no cover.
Get ready for some football as Playboy Club hosts its occasional Monday Night footy-and-bunny party, starting at 5 p.m. This week, the Minnesota Vikings take on the Chicago Bears, and all the action will be shown on the club’s 30 flat-screen TVs. Meanwhile, there’s no cover, Miller beer specials, and a $7 game-day menu from Nove Italiano. Santa has the night off, but Moosey Claus—a.k.a. Jet marketing manager Mustafa “Moose Diesel” Abdi—is hard at work, in search of the sexiest Mrs. Claus. Got what it takes to jingle his bells? You could go home with $5,000. Merry Christmas, indeed! At The Mirage, doors 10:30 p.m., $30, free for locals.
The Christmas-themed costumed contests continue tonight as Blush seeks out Santa’s sexiest helper. And this contest gives the naughty far more than lumps of coal in their fishnet stockings, with $5,000 in cash and prizes. Meanwhile, the club gives all the ladies free champagne from 11 p.m.-midnight, and local ladies and industry get in free. At Wynn, doors 9 p.m., non-locals $30.
Baby, it’s cold outside—but not that cold, thanks to the heaters on the patio, so go ahead and Surrender your Wednesday at Encore. Too chilly? Heat things up inside, where you can drink and dance industry night away in the relatively warm confines of the club. (Doors 10:30 p.m., $40 men, $30 women, all locals free.) Or play it safe and opt for a low-key night at House of Blues, which hosts its weekly blues night, Nothing But the Blues, at its indoor courtyard at Mandalay Bay. Doors 8 p.m., free.
