Women of the World

Dema Guinn, former first lady of Nevada, was honored Dec. 11 at the third annual Women of the World gala at Mandarin Oriental benefiting the Shade Tree Shelter. Marlene Richter, executive director of the Shade Tree, said, “Honoring Dema Guinn at this year’s Women of the World gala is long overdue. She is the epitome of this gala’s theme, giving of her time and money to provide help to countless women and children who would otherwise have nowhere else to go.” The evening’s theme was “global celebration, local dedication.”
