What do you do when you need a break from overly preachy movies, middling comedies and ill-conceived sequels to 1987 Oliver Stone jams? Ping the hell out of your pong, obviously.
That’s not a euphemism, either. Susan Sarandon co-owns the table tennis nightclub SPiN, and is working on a ping-pong reality show. She was in town for the USA Table Tennis National Championships at the Las Vegas Convention Center—where Timothy Wang and Ariel Hsing were busy becoming the men’s and women’s singles champions, respectively (as if you didn’t already know).
Sarandon is also scouting out locations for another SPiN location, or a similar pong/nightclub venture, somewhere in town.
She took the time out from all that paddling to bring boyfriend Jonathan Bricklin to see The Beatles Love at The Mirage on Dec. 16. Tim Robbins is probably still crying himself to sleep that he’s missing out on all these hard-charging ping-pong parties.
