Seth Rogen stars in—and co-wrote—this witty, captivating adaptation of the 1930s radio series about a masked vigilante and his partner, Kato (Jay Chou). Director Michel Gondry has fun with the genre without losing its thrills, and Rogen makes superheroism Superbad with the right touch of goof. Christoph Waltz is an aging villain, and Cameron Diaz is a gal Friday who’s not your average buxom comic-book babe.
