STK Lounge takes on the night

Skirt or strip, biting into a juicy steak has never been sexier than at STK in the Cosmopolitan. STK opened its smoked-glass doors on Dec. 15 as a part of the Cosmopolitan’s unveiling and has already gained a rep as the place to be. With a heady mixture of high-end dining and a top-notch roster of DJ entertainment, the focus shifts over the course of the evening from the restaurant to the lounge.

Spacious and trendy, the lounge presents three distinct environments including an assortment of cocktail tables on the lounge floor, an intimate bistro section farther back and the Champagne Bar, with high-boy tables for drinking and dining.

But drinking isn’t the only thing going on in this restaurant lounge. With soft yellow fixtures creating a dimly lit space, the lounge serves not only as a staging ground for waiting diners, but as its own high-energy, fun and flirty destination that caters uniquely to the female carnivore and features a variety of appetizers that are perfect for sharing.

Seven nights a week, notables from among Vegas’ best DJs set the soundtrack with what one One Group executive calls “Oh, shit!” music—that is, songs from the past three decades that elicit an involuntary expletive from the hard-partying patrons. Each Monday night, S.K.A.M. Artists DJs host Magnum Monday industry night, accompanied by local favorite DJ M!ke Attack. In honor of Magnum Mondays, industry members enjoy 25 percent off food and Veuve Clicquot Champagne orders are automatically upgraded to magnums. How’s that for supersizing?

A frequent guest behind Vegas’ decks, Manhattan’s DJ Suhel Jagtiani and friends Nirav Vyas and Nipa Shah created 1947 Premium Lager to complement India’s rich and flavorful cuisine. The founding premise of 1947 Premium Lager is that 1947 is the year of India’s Independence,” Jagtiani says. Bold as its namesake, the lager is a rich golden color, crisp and substantial enough on the palate to stand up to bold spices and hearty dishes without diminishing.
