Rediscovered Cherry Cosmo

As served at STK in the Cosmopolitan, $15

STK New York put the “rediscovered” into the Rediscovered Cherry Cosmo while it’s mixologists were playing around with flavored vodkas and happening upon the recipe for this cherry-rrific white cosmo, the perfect welcome for your visit to STK at the Cosmopolitan. Pleasing to the consummate cocktailian, yet simple enough for the mixologically wary to wrap their palates around, the cocktail naturally appeals mostly to the female contingent and is overwhelmingly STK’s best-seller. However, “When guys do try it,” The One Group’s (TOGrp.com) corporate mixologist Shawn Sugrue adds, “they admit that it is really good.” Faced with a delicious cherry cocktail, they cannot tell a lie.

  • 2 ounces Smirnoff Black Cherry vodka
  • ½ ounce Triple Sec
  • ½ ounce white cranberry juice
  • ½ ounce fresh sour mix
  • Splash freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Dried or brandied cherry garnish

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass. Add ice, cover, shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a bar pick of three cherries.

Artists in Residence

By Jason Scavone

The observant partier could see it coming in 2010 with the likes of Z-Trip, Lil Jon and Steve Aoki, but it looks like 2011 will be the year that resident DJs fulfill the promise made in 2008 by Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto and take over Las Vegas nightlife completely. This year will see Tiësto at The Joint and Erick Morillo at Marquee, with Kaskade moving over there from Encore Beach Club as well. Then there’s XS, coming out of the gate with not one, but two big-name residents—the first since the club opened early in 2009.
