Need a second chance to fulfill your New Year’s resolutions? Lucky for you Chinese New Year is Feb. 3, and there are celebrations throughout the Valley to mark the Year of the Rabbit.
At the Bridge Gallery in City Hall, 400 Stewart Ave., an exhibit showcases artists from various cultural backgrounds reflecting on the Chinese holiday. The free show is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
If your resolution is to be more artistic in your own endeavors, note that all of Clark County’s libraries are celebrating with a day of related storytelling and craft making. Visit lvccld.org for times and locations.
The big party happens Feb. 13 at the Las Vegas Chinatown Plaza, 4255 Spring Mountain Road, starting at 10 a.m. There you’ll find Asian cuisine, and entertainment such as Chinese acrobats and Japanese Taiko drums throughout the day. And admission is cheap at only $3 for adults and $1 for kids. Visit LVChinatown.com for more info.
Finally, you’ll find some displays acknowledging the New Year at area casinos. Crystals at CityCenter, for example, is putting up an 11-foot-tall, 1,200-pound golden rabbit, while Bellagio sports a 12-foot-tall rabbit created entirely from live plants, proudly standing above a forest of bamboo trees.
