The first wave of pools opens for the 2011 summer season

Get out your calendars, take off from work, then tone, tan and suit up for the eight-month summer pool season.

MGM’s Wet Republic Ultra Pool has the honors of kicking off the season, March 11. The subsequent lineup includes Kendra Wilkinson, March 26, Steve Angello’s Size Matters party, April 3; Kim Kardashian, April 16; and the first of David Guetta’s 26 F*** Me I’m Famous parties on April 10.

Light Group’s Bare Pool Lounge at The Mirage celebrates its fifth season with complimentary admission and open bar for locals on March 14. Also opening that day is the Palms Pool & Bungalows, which kicks off the perennial weekly industry soiree Ditch Fridays on May 6.

Liquid, which debuted last April in Aria, opens for its sophomore season on March 17 with an all-day open bar for locals and sounds by DJs Karma and David Christian.

The Mediterranean-esque Artisan Pool, opening April 1 at 1501 W. Sahara Ave., offers a vintage, Hollywood feel and features parties under the sun and stars.

The luxurious Moorea Beach Club overlooks Mandalay Bay Beach and its famous lazy river. The sophisticated day-club opens April 1.

Lush, Balinese-inspired Tao Beach at the Venetian opens April 2 as the new home to S.K.A.M Fridays, featuring a rotating roster of S.K.A.M. Artist DJs.

Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan debuts April 9 with a handful of international house DJs, infinity pool cabanas and a VIP party deck.

A local favorite at M Resort, Daydream opens its heavenly gates on April 16; the resort’s main pool deck opens April 1.

Encore Beach Club opens April 16 for its second summer with crowd-pleasing resident DJs Kaskade, Afrojack, Steve Aoki and Calvin Harris on rotation all summer long.

April 17 marks the opening date for the party that started it all—the one and only Rehab at the Hard Rock.

Azure at the Palazzo will once again hold its fabulous weekly events beginning with an April 9 opening.

South Beach import Nikki Beach Club makes its big splash at the Trop on May 26.
