In celebration of Elements’ 24-month anniversary, chef/owners Catherine and Jose Luis Pawelek created the 24K Gold cocktail, using ingredients such as blood orange, inspired by the couple’s summer travels throughout Spain, Italy, Florida, England and California. “With almost 400 cocktails on our list—savory, sweet, muddled, tart, bitter and creamy—we wanted something that reflected the ‘bling’ associated with Las Vegas and the triumph of not only surviving our first 24 months in business but even thriving,” Catherine says. For the remainder of March, if you bring Elements Kitchen & Martini Bar (4950 S. Rainbow Blvd.) a card and sing “Happy Birthday” to the staff, you will get a small gift as a token of Catherine and Jose Luis’ appreciation.
In a cocktail shaker, combine 1½ ounces Charbay blood orange vodka, 1 ounce Campari, 1 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice, ½ ounce lemongrass-infused simple syrup and a dash of Angostura orange bitters. Add ice, shake and strain into a cocktail glass that has been rimmed with superfine sugar and Oro Fino edible gold flakes (EasyLeafProducts.com). Garnish with a sugar figurine placed through the slice of blood orange, and sprinkle a little more gold on top.
