The Conspirator (PG-13)

Three days after John Wilkes Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln, boarding house owner Mary Surratt was arrested on charges of conspiracy to kill the president. Robert Redford directs an impressive cast through a disappointingly dull courtroom drama deciding the fate of Surratt (Robin Wright). The movie seems to focus on the wrong character, following the prosecutor (James McAvoy) instead of the more interesting and complex Surratt. Heartbreakingly average.
