Is it a gym or a resort? Life Time Fitness hopes you think it’s both.
The luxury fitness chain has 92 locations in 21 states, but on May 13, it will unveil the largest of them all—its first Las Vegas location, next to the Red Rock Resort in Summerlin. The three-level, 200,000-square-foot Life Time Athletic will feature water-park slides, a rock-climbing wall and a full-service spa where you can get Botoxed.
“Las Vegans will be blown away once they set foot in our facility,” says Ray Haizlip, senior general manager of the chain’s Summerlin branch, Life Time Athletic.
The round-the-clock gym also includes indoor turf for sports performance training on the third floor as well as a variety of sport courts. The floor below is dedicated to hundreds of cardio machines, free weights and resistance machines, and a full range of fitness classes.
But the huge water park pool will be the star attraction at Life Time. The patio with plush cushion lounges feels like that of a fabulous Strip resort. The Poolside Bistro will host special parties over the summer, as part of the gym’s effort to build a strong social environment.
“Our vision is to provide the people of Las Vegas an educational and entertaining, friendly and inviting, functional and innovative experience of uncompromising quality,” Haizlip says. “If our members can use Life Time as a means of accomplishing their health and fitness goals and adopt a brand-new, healthful way of living, then we have succeeded.”
