In this pushy, phallocentric and smutty spoof of early ‘80s medieval fantasies, Danny McBride plays the weed-smoking younger brother of a hero figure (James Franco). Their quest involves vanquishing their kingdom’s archenemy (Justin Theroux), and the recovery of Franco’s girl (Zooey Deschanel). Natalie Portman is the boys’ fierce partner in questing. Most of the movie stinks, and its reliance on digital effects stinks as well. Franco has his moments. McBride does not.
