Do It Anyway

The end was not nigh. Family Radio—whose founder had predicted a May 21 Judgment Day—lived to broadcast another day. The rest of us went on with our customary business of worrying about stacks of bills, overcrowded schools and dysfunctional government. Maybe that rainy day we’ve been fretting about is on its way, after all. So, pack that kit.

The spark on the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s story on the “solar convergence phenomenon” created by the sun’s rays reflecting off Vdara’s windows grew—not quite literally—into a firestorm fanned by national and international media.
