Making Party Memories

Your guide to the parties that make Memorial Day Weekend in Vegas the legend that it is

Not that you really needed an excuse or anything. Not that every other weekend in Vegas isn’t already a boozy Hangover trilogy in the making. But the first holiday weekend of the summer just seems to have that certain extra special something, doesn’t it? Here’s just a taste of why:

Friday, May 27

Prepare yourself for bass, babes and beats at Wet Republic’s Ibiza-worthy Memorial Day Weekend lineup. On Friday, DJs Boris and Victor Calderone kick things off, followed by the one and only Tiësto on Saturday, followed by Bad Boy Bill and Serge Devant, and closes out with an affair to remember courtesy of the famed Ibiza, Spain, party F*** Me I’m Famous. (In the MGM Grand, doors 11 a.m.)

Party at the Palms for the famed weekend for the cool kids, the Love Festival. New resident Morgan Page will be joined by Tinie Tempah, DJ Dainjazone and DJ Exodus to rock Ditch Fridays, while on Saturday the hipsters will bring it home with DJs M!ke Attack, Hyphy Crunk, Breakdown and an exclusive DJ set by electro engineers Chromeo. (In the Palms, doors at noon.) Find yourself at the Wynn properties, where DJs Steve Aoki and Calvin Harris take over the turntables at Surrender (in Encore, doors 10:30 p.m.), and at XS, A-Trak (see Page 52) makes his residency debut. (Doors 10 p.m.) Or dance the night away aside the gorgeous waterfall in Tryst in the Wynn as Manufactured Superstars launch the party.

If you locals want to avoid the mass crowds, hit the latest spot for all things hip, the Royal House, where DJs Badbeat and TeenWolf spin the music you love, and on May 28 DJs Joseph Gettright and Shr3d take on the tables. (99 Convention Center, doors 8 p.m.)

Get your fix of mash-ups at Marquee Dayclub where the Captains of the Industry and EC Twins rock the pool. (In the Cosmopolitan, doors 10 a.m.) Change out of your pool duds and into your glitzy getups and return to the Cosmo, where DJs Markus Schulz and Roger Sanchez will spin at Marquee Nightclub. (Doors 10 p.m.)

Head back to the Palms because electro-indie Chicagoan Felix Da Housecat headlines Clash Fridays with opening sets by Green Velvet and Palms resident Dave Fogg. (In the Palms, doors 10 p.m.)

The ATL’s shimmy, shimmy coco puff rapper Nelly returns to Vegas to perform at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens. (In Paris, doors 10 p.m.)

Saturday, May 28

Get wet at CityCenter’s pool party, Liquid as DJs Basement Jaxx come to help you out, then hit the pool again on Sunday for Parisian party boy Bob Sinclar, where he’ll spin his hottest tracks. (In Aria, doors 10 a.m.) Catch Sinclar on Saturday night at his weekend home in Aria, spinning at Haze. (Doors 10 p.m.)

Get down with heartthrob Lloyd Banks when he performs at Jet, then return to the club on Sunday night as Grammy-nominated Fabolous performs. (In The Mirage, doors 10:30 p.m.)

You can’t get away from Afrojack as he spins at famed Encore resorts Encore Beach Club by day (Doors 10 a.m.) and tonight and Monday night at the golden god of nightclubs, XS. (Doors 10 p.m.) Perfecto will be in full Love Festival force at Rain tonight as Zen Freeman and Paul Oakenfold hypnotize inside the house from the main stage, and hottie femme DJ Kayper, DJ Klever and Yelawolf host the poolside outdoor party. (Doors 10 p.m.)

Catch cast members of Holly’s World at Blush this weekend, first with Holly Madison tonight, then you better dance your ass off as singer of smash “Report to the Floor” Josh Strickland hosts May 29.

Today at Marquee Dayclub in the Cosmopolitan, fall into a trance with Above and Beyond and Cedric Gervais (Doors 10 a.m.), then make sure you’ve got shoes to last you through the night for ATB and Laidback Luke at the hotel’s nightclub. (Doors 10 p.m.)

Everyone’s favorite “Konvict,” Aliaune Badara Akon Thiam, otherwise known as Akon, makes his way to Sin City to perform and hosts at Chateau and on May 29 at Gallery. (In Planet Hollywood, doors 10 p.m.)

Sunday, May 29

Party like it’s the best you ever have with baby-faced rapper Drake as he swoons the ladies at Rehab. (In the Hard Rock Hotel, doors 10 a.m.) If you think the club can handle you right now, check your ego at Haze when David Guetta brings his F*** Me I’m Famous party to Aria, joined by hip-hopper Flo Rida. (Doors 10 p.m.)

The Palms closes the weekend with a larger-than-life lineup featuring Yvonne Black, Classixx, Treasure Fingers, Kill the Noise, Craze and Junior Sanchez at the poolside stage during the day (Doors 10 a.m.) followed by international wonders Paul Van Dyk, DJ Reza, Marcus Schossow and TV Rock on the fire-breathing main stage and LA Riots and Justin Martin playing poolside. (Doors 10 p.m.)

Set your sights on reality babe Laura Croft as she hosts a SweetCheeks Swimwear bikini fashion show at Eve. (In CityCenter, doors 10 p.m.)

Legendary DJ and producer Fatboy Slim kicks off his Marquee Dayclub residency at the Cosmopolitan. (See Page 56) (Doors 10 a.m.) Stick around for Armin van Buuren and Blake Jarrel when the club transitions to night hours. (Doors 10 p.m.) Faithful Tao resident DJ Erick Morillo returns to celebrate a very special five-year anniversary with his favorite Las Vegas club that he’s had a not-so-secret love affair with. (Doors 10 p.m.)

Monday, May 30

On Monday, Redfoo and DJ Chuckie plan to party rock your swimwear off, and later Chuckie is joined by Robbie Rivera to have the last word on Memorial Day Weekend at Marquee.
