THQ to release ‘UFC Undisputed 3’ in January

Don’t worry, UFC fans who weren’t blown away by Dana White’s big news Wednesday — that Georges St-Pierre’s next fight will come against current Strikeforce Welterweight champion Nick Diaz at UFC 137 in Las Vegas instead of a possible Super Fight with Anderson Silva — you can make your own dream match-up in January when the third installment of THQ’s UFC Undisputed video game is released.

The newest addition will include UFC’s bantamweight and featherweight divisions, more than 150 playable fighters (such as bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz or featherweight titleholder Jose Aldo), fighter walkouts, new camera angles and a “PRIDE mode” option that features rules from the now defunct Japanese promotion that allows for knees, soccer kicks and stomps to the head of a downed opponent.

“We are excited to launch UFC Undisputed 3 in January 2012 and expect it to be the best version yet,” White said in released statement. “We’ve added two new weight classes and several new features to the game that will bring UFC fans closer to the Octagon than ever before.”
