Few do brunch so well as Kerry Simon at his eponymous Palms Place restaurant. All the chef’s hallmarks are there, including his famous junk-food dessert platter, but it’s the French toast that steals the show. Thick and eggy brioche is rolled in—what else?—Frosted Flakes. Covered with berries and dripping in Vermont maple syrup is the way to eat it.
