Out with the old, in with the new

It may be the middle of summer, but retailers are already preparing for fall by clearing out summer-season inventory to make room for fall. Between now and Aug. 15, Vegas Seven readers who mention this column receive a 20 percent discount on all in-stock interior accessories at Urban Ranch General Store, 6985 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 105.

Throughout July, save up to 50 percent off select swimwear at Bikini Bay at Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood. More Miracle Mile deals include a savings of 30 percent on already reduced merchandise and 50 percent on select fashion at French Connection and a two-for-$25 special offer on body butters and scrubs at The Body Shop.

St. John at Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas in Primm celebrates its anniversary on July 17 with the first 50 shoppers receiving 25 percent off their entire purchase of $400 or more. Beginning July 22 and running through the end of the month, casual dressing favorite Michael Stars at Town Square hosts its semi-annual end-of-season sale. Receive a discount of up to 50 percent on select styles and colors.

At CENTERpiece Gallery, situated in the porte cochere of Mandarin Oriental, shoppers can now save 20 percent on books, prints and other merchandise until the end of the month. On Aug. 1, look for big back-to-school markdowns at the Athlete’s Foot and get up to 60 percent off select shoes. Two locations: 4712 W. Sahara Ave. and 1260 S. Nellis Blvd.

The exciting news on the bargain-shopping scene is the relocation of Nordstrom Rack from Silverado Ranch Plaza to the Stephanie Street Power Center in the heart of Henderson’s retail district. The grand opening is Aug. 11, and with designer apparel and shoes priced at 50 to 60 percent off original Nordstrom prices, this store outlet is worth the drive, even from Summerlin.

Seven beauty bargains

Everyone loves the thrill of saving a penny or two. Here are a few of my picks for good alternatives to high-priced beauty products: Suave dry shampoo. Back in the day, baby powder was known as the quick fix to tame oily hair. Today, a product on the market called dry shampoo does just that; however, most are expensive and don’t go very far. Problem solved! Suave has a brand (sold at Target) that not only holds its own with the salon brands but has an amazing floral scent. At only $3, I suggest you stock up.
