Get the ’do done by the sexy coiffeuse of your choosing, then move it to the bar for a little hot putt-putt action, rollicking dueling pianos and a few rounds of cocktails. This is your Friday night, according to hypnotist/entertainer Anthony Cools, once his new bar opens next in addition to a new hair salon at the refreshed Plaza on Aug. 24.
Cools’ Swingers Club (in reference, natch, to the necessary golf apparatus) sits in the former Aqua Lounge spot on the casino floor. The 5,000-square-foot venue is a partnership between Cools—who still performs five nights a week at Paris—and two Canadian bar/nightclub owners. It will feature a nine-hole mini-golf setup, which weaves in and out of the tables, as well as live music acts from 7-9 p.m. and dueling pianos from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. featuring Shane Young as a headlining dueler. Late-night glow-in-the-dark disco golf and DJ sounds take over from 2-4 a.m.
Meanwhile, another Cools enterprise, Exposed Hair: An Erotic Hair Experience, will take up 2,000 feet of the Plaza’s former third floor retail space: The risqué salon pairs a projected mostly male clientele with attractive licensed stylists who just happen to be wearing bikinis and lingerie. “I see an opportunity here to fill a gap that has never been filled in Vegas,” Cools says.
The experience will include the usual services, including haircuts, color and scalp massages, says Cools’ partner Bree Marley, a stylist for seven years with Curl Up & Dye, but also a cold beer, sports on the TVs and rock ’n’ roll on the sound system. It’s all the solace of a man-cave, with none of the hassles of a gentleman’s club.
