Wally Eastwood jokes about how many hours of his life he wasted learning how to juggle. And the audience laughs uproariously, as they do at all of his self-deprecating quips. But the time was not wasted; Eastwood has turned the corny amusement into a fine art. As a performer and host of V: The Ultimate Variety Show, he juggles hats, bouncing them off his head like a seal; he juggles balls with his mouth, popping them up in the air like the first kernels of popcorn to escape the machine; and most impressively, he plays Beethoven by juggling down onto a keyboard instead of up in the air. It’s beautiful, funny and entertaining in a simply joyful way.
