For a city with relatively pleasant weather, Las Vegas has surprisingly few rooftop hangouts. Sure, the top-of-the-Strip ultra-lounges are there, but when it comes to casual dining or grabbing a few cocktails, the options are lacking. In fact, we had to venture way down Eastern Avenue in Henderson to discover our local favorite. The Half Shell rooftop features a bar, plenty of tables and cozy booths, and the views can’t be beat. The food—mostly Italian- and Mexican-inspired favorites plus, of course, oysters—is pretty good, too. It’s a spot that works so well it makes you wonder why such a simple idea isn’t executed more often.
