It’s the party that saved Rain Nightclub from lingering drought and an uncertain future when it began Labor Day weekend of 2008, helmed most weeks by Paul Oakenfold, the internationally acclaimed producer and two-time World’s Best DJ. Vegas Seven hereby declares Perfecto Saturdays the newest inductee to the Las Vegas Nightlife Hall of Fame … were there such a thing. He of the Balearic Beat, Oakenfold knows a thing or two about staying relevant; his own career has spanned more than 30 years, from spinning soul in Covent Garden in the late 1970s to spinning onstage for a Las Vegas Saturday night crowd while Perfecto’s fanciful creature-people dangle from the ceiling and creep up the walls. Perfecto will celebrate its three-year anniversary this Labor Day, as well as Oakenfold’s new album, Nevermind the Bollocks . . . Here’s Paul Oakenfold.
