Overall, Labor Day weekend was a pretty standard affair, save for a few downers such as Sept. 5’s untimely gray skies and Jet’s tearful closing bash. Unexpected, however, was the revelation that just days before the nation turned its attention to Sin City’s Labor Day weekend antics, the Tropicana’s new nightclub/day-club duo, Nikki Beach and Club Nikki, lost its marketing and promotions team to self-selection when Las Vegas-based A5 Group opted out of its contract, effective Aug. 24.
The group reportedly has a number of other nightlife and restaurant irons in the fire and will be turning its full attention to those. A Tropicana rep confirms that the property has since assumed control of the two venues’ marketing and promotions.
