When we last talked to folks at the L.A. Comedy Club, they had ended a two-year stint at the Four Queens and eyed a move back to the Strip. Not only are they back on the Strip, but they have returned to their old home. What used to be Trader Vic’s is now the Sammy Hagar-branded Cabo Wabo. While the name and operators might have changed, the original room upstairs is still intact and the perfect place for partners Joaquin Trujillo and Matt Chavez to house their shows.
Trujillo has always loved the space. “The room is not a traditional comedy room, and [it] has a unique energy and a great feel for comedy,” he says. “In addition it has one of the best views of the Las Vegas Strip.”
L.A. Comedy Club mixes fresh and hip comedians along with established headliners. Showtime is 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The headliner this week is Tonight Show multi-timer Willie Barcena.
Tickets start at $29.95 with an array of locals’ specials and can be purchased at lacomedyclub.com.
