El Cortez, in association with Shoot to Kill Media, is continuing its 70th anniversary celebration with a Cinema Competition. The challenge is to produce a 3-to-5-minute short film featuring El Cortez. Each short must incorporate some element of the hotel-casino’s neon or classic signage and at least three shots of venues inside the vintage Vegas property. The top 10 films will be screened at El Cortez on Nov. 4, with prizes including a contract to produce an El Cortez advertisement. Final submissions are due by 5 p.m. Oct. 21. (
