We’re all familiar with a certain sandwich jingle that begins, “Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese …” but STK takes that big sandwich and makes it the Lil’ BGR, a four-pack of sliders packed with big flavor. The beef patties in this case are Wagyu beef, and the special sauce is carefully seasoned for a little kick, while tart Japanese pickles cut through the richness. And it all fits nicely on a toasted, sesame-seed bun. Want to go even more over the top? Add truffles or foie gras. You won’t find this burger under those golden arches.

The tea menu at Mandarin Oriental’s Tea Lounge is exquisite; the cocktails in the bar, delicious and sophisticated. It was just a matter of time before someone would set them up on a date. Bartending supervisor Michael LaPenna did the matchmaking. “We wanted to turn guests on to some of our special select teas by incorporating them in a well-balanced craft cocktail,” LaPenna says. The resulting menu of tea-inspired drinks looks to the tea itself to suggest coordinating spirits and fruits. And all three stand up as delicious cocktails, whether it’s teatime or ’tini time.
