The first rule of Twitter? Stop it with #FollowFriday already. No one cares anymore. The second rule of Twitter? Don’t smack-talk R&B singers with their own reality shows if you don’t want to scuffle, allegedly knock them out and then have to hear about it all over the radio the next day.
The day before Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz squared off at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, rapper Fabolous Tweeted, “Nah but Floyd saying we havin a concert in my living room & the camera cuts to Ray J singing ‘One Wish’ on the piano had me in tears!!”
Apparently, having sex on tape with what we’re pretty sure was an unconscious Kim Kardashian was all the public humiliation Ray J could take. On Sept. 18, Fabolous was performing at the Palms, and apparently all that slow-boil Twitter-rage came to a head backstage.
(Mind you, the night before, both of them were together at Diddy’s 70-person dinner at N9NE Steakhouse, and then were together again at Rain. Maybe it was something about the Pearl that set him off.)
The two of them wound up mixing it up and, according to a Palms spokesman, security broke up the scuffle. Reports online seem to suggest that Fabolous got the better of the dustup, with stories of damage to Ray J ranging from taking lumps to getting knocked out to getting knocked out and then robbed of his jewelry.
Video footage shows Ray J being led out of the Pearl in handcuffs by security. Which is still more dignified than For the Love of Ray J.
On Sept. 19, Ray J called in to New York’s WWPR-FM Power 105.1, all sorts of animated, and said he hit Fab, who didn’t swing back, “because he’s a sucker.” He added that he’s tired of being humble and low-key. Then he threatened to have Fabolous raped. Seriously.
You know the guy who always takes the joke way too far, like when you make fun of his sweater and he comes back and says your mother never loved you and she told him that when they were together last night? Ray J sounds like that kind of guy.
