So you think you can DJ?

On Sept. 26, seven starry-eyed beat and bass-loving amateur DJs will congregate at Marquee Nightclub in the Cosmopolitan for the final round of the summer’s most exciting DJ competition, the Vegas Spin-Off. Hosted by Indaba Music and R&R Partners, and sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the search for an electronic prodigy began July 21, and on Sept. 15 the finalists were announced.

Mix-makers from across the country each created unique versions of indie rock band Mona’s hit song, “Listen to Your Love.” On Aug. 19 contestants showed off their turntable chops by posting their remixes online, where they were ranked by the site’s community. Of the seven finalists, two were selected by popular vote while five were chosen by a panel of celebrity DJs including DJ Vice, Markus Schulz, LMFAO, Lil’ Jon and Sol Shafer.

The same five will judge the final contest during Marquee Mondays, when each finalist will spin live before the panel and crowd. The grand prize-winner receives an all-expenses paid, VIP trip to Las Vegas, the opportunity to open at Surrender Nightclub, a $10,000 in-home recording studio, $1,500 in Puma apparel and a $500 Visa gift card.

Visit to judge the mixes for yourself. Then hit Marquee on Sept. 26 and bear witness to the making of the next up-and-coming DJ.
