Dolphin Tale

(PG) ★★★☆☆

This heartwarmer based on a true story follows the tailless dolphin Winter (played by Winter) through all sorts of adversity alongside its human protectors, notably the 11-year-old Sawyer (Nathan Gamble). What the film lacks in digital effects, it makes up for with some ambitious storylines and, of course, Morgan Freeman as a prosthetics specialist. Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr. provide solid, low-pressure performances, in contrast to the film’s high-pressure peril.

I Don’t Know How She Does It

By Tribune Media Services

Sarah Jessica Parker stars as an investment firm wizard who negotiates time-sucking work projects; a backbiting rival (Seth Meyers) and a demanding boss (Kelsey Grammer); the attentions of a colleague (Pierce Brosnan); and a packed calendar involving two kids, a nanny and her underemployed husband (Greg Kinnear). Parker’s comic and dramatic technique is formidable, but the comedy in this film is forced and forlorn.
