Knee injury forces GSP off UFC 137 card

B.J. Penn vs. Nick Diaz now headlines next weekend's event at Mandalay Bay Events Center

Well there goes another—make that the—main event participant for UFC 137 as a knee injury has forced UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre out of his Oct. 29 bout against Carlos Condit at Mandalay Bay Events Center.

“I just land in NYC and what do I always say!? I have to deal with bad shit everyday!! GSP is out with an injury!!!” Dana White posted on his Twitter account this afternoon.

Now Nick Diaz—who initially was scheduled to fight GSP, before losing his title shot after no-showing back-to-back press conferences—takes on B.J. Penn in the main event, which is scheduled for a three-round affair.

“It’s GSP’S knee. We will sit Carlos to wait for GSP,” White tweeted. “It’s looking so far like he could be ready in a couple months. Still early to tell tho.”
