Highs and Lows from the UNR game

High: Members of the ZBT fraternity selling red clown noses outside the Thomas & Mack Center to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.

Low: The pile of schlock advertising fliers on every seat before the game. Spare the mess and save a tree.

High: One of the fliers is a Christmas tree coupon. Hey, thanks!

High: The sold-out student section singing in unison to the UNLV fight song.

Low: The Jar Jar Binks lyrics to the UNLV fight song, which encourage the Rebels to “win a victory.”

High: The injured Carlos Lopez elevating on the power of one-and-a-half ankles for a two-hand jam.

Higher: Justin Hawkins’ breakaway slam to put the Rebels up 61-43 with 6:36 left to play.

Low: Almost everything that happened after Hawkins’ breakaway slam.

High: Section 111, Row CC. Midriffs. Bare. “Rebels,” spelled correctly.

Low: The way Hey Reb sits at mid-court during Rebel Girl performances, staring at bare midriffs.

High: Those “FUNR” T-shirts the students were wearing. Because UNLV is funner.

High: The message on the back of the T-shirts: “I have to go to Reno every two years for a football game. What’s your excuse?”

Low: What happens every two years at those football games.
