Tower Heist

(PG-13) ★★★☆☆

This 1970s-style heist picture focuses on a luxe high-rise on Central Park, home to a corrupt, Madoff-esque tycoon played by Alan Alda. The building manager Josh (Ben Stiller) teams up with semi-pro burglar Slide (Eddie Murphy) to knock off the tycoon’s penthouse stash and deliver some comeuppance. While director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour) usually overplays his hand, a clever script and great supporting cast (Matthew Broderick, Michael Peña, Téa Leoni, etc.) make this film surprisingly fun.

That time has come: Those artists invade the Planet Hollywood Theater for the Performing Arts on Nov. 26 for the West Coast All-Stars show.
