Best Nightlife Ambassador

Alex Cordova

Alex Cordova is expanding Angel Management Group’s reign to Atlantic City, where he will head up all the nightlife venues in the new Revel Resort, expected to open in the spring. Cordova is no stranger to the East Coast, as he consulted in New York before taking on 17 nightlife venues as AMG’s vice president of marketing. He will split his time between Las Vegas and Atlantic City as he establishes AMG’s new bicoastal empire. We fully expect to see shades of Vegas at Revel in the form of a flawlessly beautiful nightlife staff, industry nights for locals, an entertainment and talent lineup that includes top DJs and Vegas-style pool parties a la Wet Republic with A-list stars reigning supreme over the proceedings. With Cordova’s proven past successes, it will no doubt soon be safe to go to New Jersey again.

Crown Prince of the City

The Downtown Cocktail Room’s doors are impossibly un-door-ish. You walk up from the intersection of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard, happy to join the buzzing downtown camaraderie—the urban revolution taking hold of Las Vegas—and you’re faced with walls of one-way glass and no apparent door handle. For the uninitiated, it makes for an awkward moment. Had this happened to me, and I’m not confirming that it did, the larger metaphor wouldn’t have been lost: Maybe everyone doesn’t fit in here.
