DJ We’re Dying to See Come to Vegas

Busy P

Unless you’re keen to the electronic music scene, many Americans haven’t heard of Busy P. The French DJ, also known as Pedro Winter, is the owner of Ed Banger Records, which has released tracks for notable Euro bangers such as Justice, Uffie, Simian and the late DJ Mehdi. The DJ/producer cannot only be thanked for creating and distributing the music that has shaped electro-house, but he also managed Daft Punk during its peak years (1996-2008). An incredible performer, Busy P played 2008’s Fabulous Festival in Vegas alongside Deadmau5 and Crystal Castles. It’s been three years since then, and we say it’s time for the busy producer to return this electronic mecca on the rise and show us how the French do.

The Downtown Cocktail Room’s doors are impossibly un-door-ish. You walk up from the intersection of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard, happy to join the buzzing downtown camaraderie—the urban revolution taking hold of Las Vegas—and you’re faced with walls of one-way glass and no apparent door handle. For the uninitiated, it makes for an awkward moment. Had this happened to me, and I’m not confirming that it did, the larger metaphor wouldn’t have been lost: Maybe everyone doesn’t fit in here.
