When Harland Williams takes the stage at Napoleon’s Lounge inside Paris Las Vegas Feb. 9, he’ll be working again for Cort McCown’s production. What he won’t be doing is performing under the banner of the Playboy Comedy Club – instead kicking off Empire Comedy.
With the Playboy Comedy deal expiring at the end of last year, McCown said it was the changing fortunes at the Palms that led him to consider jumping properties.
“We’ve been there for eight years and I love George Maloof. George Maloof is a great guy. I respect him a lot. He was a great guy to work for. Unfortunately, I wasn’t working for George anymore. An opportunity came to build a new brand with a new company and do some growth that really wasn’t possible at the Palms. We’d been there for eight years and I just didn’t didn’t see the opportunity. We have an opportunity now with Empire Comedy where we’re not only doing a show every week at Napoleon’s Lounge, but we’re also doing shows at the Flamingo showroom.”
A McCown-produced Jon Lovitz will be in that sizeable room March 16-17.
$39.99, VIP $59.99. Thursday-Friday 8:30 p.m., Saturday 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
