Electric Daisy Carnival is finally getting its spot on the East Coast. Prior to the big throwdown June 8-10 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, EDC will make a stop in New York City on May 19-20. A venue hasn’t been officially revealed yet, but it can’t be Yankee Stadium—the Bronx Bombers are home that weekend. Citi Field, home of the Mets, is a possibility. Bamboozle, the Skrillex-headlined festival the same weekend, was at the Meadowlands last year but is departing East Rutherford, N.J., to go south to Asbury Park. Hmm. … Manufactured Superstars lit up the Internet in the past week. And not in the good way, like you’d want. They provided the beats for the Paris Hilton spoken-word ramblefest “Drunk Text.” At least now you won’t have to hear “Stars Are Blind” every time she waltzes into whatever club at which you happen to be partying.
A Peek at Life Is Beautiful 2017
Gorillaz are coming to Las Vegas for the first time ever. 2016’s Grammy winner for best new artist, Chance the Rapper, will return. English rockers Muse will bring their dizzying live show to the streets of Downtown. And that’s just the top of an eclectic bill that features more than 70 acts, along with comedy, interactive art installations, a group art exhibit featuring the work of Mark Ryden, Tara McPherson and Shepard Fairey and much more. Last year saw more than 137,000 attendees trod the festival footprint. Who’s ready for more?
