UNLV drops three spots to No. 20 in both major polls to close regular season

After splitting a pair of league cames to close out the regular season, UNLV dropped from No. 17 to No. 20 in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA today coaches Top 25 polls on Monday in the final rankings of the regular season.

UNLV finished 9-5 in Mountain West play and enters this week’s league tournament on its home floor as the No. 3 seed. The Rebels will face No. 6 Wyoming at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the nightcap of the quarterfinal round.

The only other Mountain West squad in this week’s poll is San Diego State, who split the league’s regular season title with New Mexico. The Aztecs check in at No. 18 in the AP and No. 21 in the coaches poll.
