The Bank’s Piventerest

Jeremy Piven has a drum kit and a dream—a dream to play cover songs in a nightclub with the guy who plays guitar with Miley Cyrus, and the guy who’s the touring rhythm guitarist for the Offspring.

Call it a dream realized. Piven, who apparently has tons of free time now that Entourage is wrapped, brought his band, Bad Decisions (featuring Jaco Caraco, the former; and Todd Morse, the latter), to The Bank on March 3, where they played a seven-song set that included the White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” and Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.” Maybe next time he won’t be so quick to pass on Runaway Jury 2: Curly’s Revenge.

Tyson sizing up theater

By Jason Scavone

The Baddest Man on the Planet is going to be the Baddest Man in the Hollywood Theater. Mike Tyson is doing a one-man show, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, running April 13-18 at MGM Grand’s Hollywood Theatre showroom. Tyson was already the subject of a 2008 documentary where he gave an unflinching look at his inner life. We just hope he doesn’t turn a bunch of pigeons loose in the theater, for authenticity’s sake.
