Evidently it’s a big month for green things. Besides the impending annual Leprechaun invasion, Southern Nevada Girl Scouts celebrated their national organization’s 100th anniversary on March 10 by marching across Hoover Dam in their traditional uniforms. Why there? Because during the dam’s construction in 1932, the area’s first troop blossomed in Boulder City. The Bureau of Reclamation returned the compliment by turning the dam lights green for the week ending on—you guessed it—St. Patrick’s Day.
