Tao Group Gets Envolved

For better or worse, winemaker Ben Flajnik’s tumultuous season on The Bachelor has come to an end. But his love will go on. That is, his love for the good juice he and his partners Danny Fay and Mike Benziger make in California’s Sonoma Valley. The entire portfolio of his Envolve and Epilogue brands will soon be made available to the Las Vegas market via Southern Wine & Spirits.

Among the first on the list to find a place for the 2011 Envolve Sonoma Valley sauvignon blanc will be Lavo and Tao restaurants. Tao Group beverage director Tim Keller calls it “a very approachable wine that is great for drinking on its own or with the Asian-inspired food at Tao or our Italian food at Lavo.” Look for Envolve in April at Lee’s Discount Liquor and Total Wine & More.

“Tao and Lavo offer an ambience, cuisine and venue that parallels with Envolve’s social, fun lifestyle,” says the trio. “We’re three 29-year-old passionate winemakers from Sonoma who enjoy sharing our organic and biodynamic wines with people who appreciate great food, great wines and great fun.” Next up for the gentlemen: Envolve’s extremely limited-production (just eight barrels!) Sonoma County old-vine primitivo. See? Already they’re getting into the Las Vegas nightlife exclusivity thing. They’re going to fit in well here.

In the meantime, Envolve wines are available for retail purchase online, and while Envolve does not yet have a tasting room open to the public, if you happen to be in the Sonoma area (um, wow, stalking Ben much?), they are offered at a number of local restaurants.
