EDC releases lineup for Vegas festival

Electric Daisy Carnival has released a lineup for the June 8-10 festival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Plenty of familiar faces are on the bill, including Afrojack, Avicii, Tiësto, Calvin Harris, Kaskade and Steve Aoki. Several big-ticket names are still out in the ether, though. No word yet on Skrillex or the ubiquitous LMFAO—which isn’t a stretch, given Will.i.am’s spot on the bill. Nor has there been any confirmation yet on one big fi5h you’d expect to see: Deadmau5.

Penn & Teller got a synergistic jump on upcoming Planet Hollywood headliner Cee Lo Green by going on The Voice to play mentor to his team and teach them about showmanship. They also got a visit at the Rio from Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg on April 7. Which we assume means he’s researching a role as a socially awkward magician.

Paved With Gold

By Deanna Rilling

Willkommen zurück, Thomas Gold! The German DJ producer has been busy since his visit to Vegas, including gigging with the boys from Swedish House Mafia (he’s something of a honorary member at this point) and snagging the sweet giant home-page spot on Beatport with his latest original “Sing2Me,” among a slew of remixes and collaborations. Gold fills us in on some studio secrets before taking the booth with what he promises to be “energetic, uplifting house” at XS on April 15.
