“My most prized possession is a set of encyclopedias older than I am, which have been in my family since the 1950s. My mom recalls a Funk & Wagnalls salesman coming to her house as a little girl to sell them to her family, and my grandmother gave them to her as an adult, and she handed them down to me when I was in college. I keep them with me no matter where I move. They’ve been through five decades and three states.”
