Spicy Tuna Combination, Kyara Japanese Tapas

Wine From a Rock

By Xania Woodman

When Queensrÿche’s Geoff Tate plays Body English later this month, he may do so fueled by an unlikely sort of liquid courage. I mean, how many rockers do you know who tip back a dry cab or a fruit-forward white blend before a solo progressive-metal set? But Tate’s in good company. With the 2008 launch of his Insania red blend, Tate joined fellow oenophilic rockers such as Bad Company bassist Paul Cullen, AC/DC, Train, KISS and Maynard James Keenan of Tool. (The fruit from Keenan’s Caduceus Winery hails from his own, ahem, Merkin Vineyards. Google “merkin”—that is so rawk!)
