Let’s face it: Going to Coachella has become as much about the parties as the music. So before your head spins deciding which party to zip off too, we put together a primer with all the info on the weekend’s top bashes.
Kick off the weekend in sophisticated style at GenArt Muse on Friday. The emerging arts company partnered with L.A.’s Agency nightclub to start the weekend with a “sensory experience” in a yet-to-be-revealed desert locale. A specially selected artist will design the “experience” complete with light shows, optical illusion artwork and music. Look out for guests such as Emma Roberts and Jonah Hill among other celebrities and musicians.
Coachella is known for 100-plus-degree days, so the only place to be is beside a pool. But not just any hotel pool, a VIP party complete with performances by Rye Rye, Theophilus Longon and Penguin Prison. The Guess Hotel has all of these and more at their private pool parties in La Quinta on Friday and Saturday.
One of the hottest invites of the weekend, the Lacoste L!VE pool party, is the place to go for pre-festival fun in the sun. The DJ lineup features Elijah Wood and Nigel Godrich playing on Saturday and Sunday. The party is held at a private estate in Thermal, Calif., so hightail it there if you find the coveted invite in your inbox.
The Neon Carnival has been a staple festival after-party for two years running, and it returns April 14. Let your inner child run free on the Ferris wheel, dunk tank and go-cart race track, while sipping sponsored cocktails and listening to DJs. In past years Rihanna, Usher and Paris Hilton were seen at this star-studded playground. The locale is a rambling former airport in Thermal.
One of the top hotels in Palms Springs, Ace Hotel & Swim Club, is hosting an entire week of parties to get you through both Coachella weekends. Held daily from April 12-22 it’s a hip pool party not to miss.
